Anthuriums are often recognized in tropical cut flower arrangements.  Many of these have been growing in the backyards in Hawaii for decades.  Anthurium plants are durable and long lasting, easy to grow and great as an indoor houseplant.  These specialty anthuriums are called "obake".  Obake means to change or transform - as these plants have matured, solid color flowers evolve to have multicolors & veining.
