All plant products are shipped on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday via FedEx Service (2-3 Day) to ensure that our orchids can be delivered in a timely manner to maintain quality.  We don't ship on Thursday or Friday because packages will sit at the FedEx facility with no movement over the weekend.

  • Continental US Orders should be delivered within 2-3 days after ship date
  • Alaska Orders may take up to 3 days for delivery
  • Hawaii Orders will be delivered within 1 day after ship date

While we do our best to ensure timely shipment of your order, we cannot guarantee exact delivery dates once packages leave our facility.  There may be possibly delays due to conditions that are out of our control including FedEx facility closures or delays due to extreme weather conditions or operational delays.

**Please note that as a courtesy, when available, we do ship some boxes via Priority overnight. There is no additional charge to you. However, this does not guarantee that your order will arrive in 1 day (unless it's Hawaii delivery). In most areas, a Priority overnight just means it will arrive earlier on the expected arrival date.

Due to strict Department of Agriculture requirements, plant material cannot be shipped with non-plant related products. In this case, we use USPS to ship non-plant related products. It is a possibility that you will receive multiple boxes for your order.

When will my order ship?

After your order is placed, please allow for 24-48 hrs processing time.  Orders received after Tuesday evening, will be pushed to send out the following Monday.  Your order will then be sent on the next available ship date unless otherwise specified in the order comments box.  We will do our best to accommodate your request.  We cannot guarantee the availability of plants in bud/bloom if you request a ship date that is more than 2 weeks away from the order date.

Any additional requests or errors in providing the correct shipping address will delay your order shipment. 

**Shipments delivered WILL be left near the front door if someone is not home to receive the box. If you wish for the box to be received by a person, we recommend that you ship your order to a business.

Regional Shipping Information

CALIFORNIA: Plant shipments sent to the state of California may incur an additional $5/order for newly required agriculture inspection and are subjected to random spot inspections by their Agricultural Department. Orders to California are inspected weekly.

ALASKA: Alaska orders will incur an additional $30/order rural charge & may take an additional day to arrive. Some deliveries need to be made by seaplane which could delay arrival times.

Our Orchid Promise

We make great efforts in our packing process so that your plants/products arrive in excellent condition. We take great pride in our plant quality and in preparation for the shipping process. In the event your plants or supplies do not arrive, are damaged during transit or there is a quality issue upon arrival, please contact us within 3 days of delivery following the steps below. Our support team will be happy to assist and guide you through our simple claim process.

  • Click on the Blue "? Help" Icon at the bottom right corner and fill out the form OR Email your claim request to claims@akatsukaorchid.com
  • Please include the following information in the email request:
  1. Your Order #
  2. Plant/Product Name
  3. Brief description of the issue
  4. Attach a picture of the plant/product for our reference

 Our support team will respond to your request within 24-48 hours and offer a resolution or request additional information.

Upon claim verification, you will receive one of the following:

  1. Replacement Plant/Product or another item of equal value if original item is no longer available
  2. Store Credit for the Plant/Product amount
