Cyc. Grinch's Gold AM/AOS (4" Pot) - Female Flowers

This stunning Cycnoches orchid is a seedling hybrid from two stunning, clone-worthy varieties (Cyc. The Grinch 'Big Spot' x Cyc. herrenhusanum 'Golden Shower'), one of which is an American Orchid Society award winner. This medium-sized  is known to produce unique and impressive flowers.  Currently 2 variations of bud development are showing.  This one has 2-3 buds forming at the very apex of the pseduobulb.  

• Orchid Plant Stage:  Mature currently with buds/blooms (femaie flowers)
• Seedling Cross: Blooms will not be identical and colors/hues will vary - see photos for variations we've seen so far
• Bloom Color: Green-Yellow-Orange in variations of hues and saturations
• Bloom Size: 2-3"
• Fragrant Blooms: Sweet and unique
• Size: 4" Pot
• Average Plant Height: 10-12"
• Blooming Season: Later Summer-Fall

Note: This family of orchids will go through a period of dormancy after it blooms.  Leaves will yellow and drop after blooming during dormancy period!  This is completely normal.  The pseudobulb may be completely bald.  Cut back on watering to once every 2 weeks.  In the spring, new growth will emerge, resume regular watering to keep media moist but not soggy.
