The orchids came in in beautiful shape with buds and flowers. Akatsuka delayed shipping the order at my request so I could add another orchid - which did not increase the shipping. I am very impressed and pleased with working with them.

This specialty Dendrobium Latouria hybrid originates from the cross between the species Den. atroviolaceum and Den. johnsoniae and more specifically the varieties named 'HR Pink' and 'Best Pink'.
These orchid plants are eager to grow into specimen plants with flowers that can last for months. Thriving in intermediate to warm temperatures and medium light. The blooming season does vary and can bloom twice a year with each spike having the ability to bloom more than once and up to 3 times.
These particular orchids are seedlings of two similar varieties crossed to achieve pink flower tips though the results may vary in brightness and vibrance. See photos.

Large Orchid
Plant arrived with 2 spikes and lots of buds. Several have opened but the tios are white and not the wonderful pink/purple as pictured. Maybe the color develops with age. If the plant showed these colors I would have rated it 5 stars.
