Den. amethystoglossum is a popular orchid species of collectors and Dendrobium lovers alike. As the plant continues to mature, multiple spikes will form with blooms in a cluster and hang downward like a chandelier. Don't cut old canes because bud spikes can form on old canes. Also, note the spotting on the leaves. This variety is semi-deciduous and older canes will drop leaves & remain bare.
