Orchid Care
- Temperature: Moderate to cool. 70/75F day temperatures. 45-55F Nights. When budding, raise night temps to 60-65F
- Light: Bright shade during the summer months (June-August) and as much bright light as possible during the cooler months
- Water: Water thoroughly in the morning to prevent bacterial growth. (Spring-Summer) Water heavily when media approaches dryness but is lightly damp to touch and increasingly when new growths appear. (November until Spring) Water only enough to keep canes from shriveling.
- Humidity: High humidity
- Fertilizer: Only apply a low-nitrogen fertilizer for flowering specimens until early August to guarantee many flowers.
- Potting: Enjoy being root-bound in relatively small pots. Use well draining bark based media.
Please note: This plant is deciduous and leaves will start to turn yellow and shed when blooms appear. Most of the leaves where buds are formed have already fallen off. Eventually, canes will be bald with new growth in the next season.
