Dendrobium (Plant Only)
Dendrobium is a diverse genus of orchids with a vast array of cultural needs.
Many of these are deciduous types, experiencing a rest or dormant phase where they stop growing and instead, begin to spot, yellow, and lose their leaves. Most Dendrobium orchids can bloom for numerous weeks while a few might only last a few days. The majority of Dendrobiums can be cared for with the following basic instructions:
- Lighting: Bright light needed- morning direct sun is okay. Keep slightly shaded in the summer.
- Water: Water heavily during during growing season. Keep cooler and drier during winter.
- Temperature: 50-70F (Winter) 60-80F (Summer)
- Fertilize: You can use a balanced fertilizer once or twice a month at 1/2 strength.
Due to the extremity of differences we suggest that you refer to more in depth care instructions depending on the particular types: Orchid Care Guides
Note: All Dendrobium orchids listed under this category are currently awaiting their blooming season and are thus not producing any spike or bud.
