Phalaenopsis
Phalaenopsis orchids produce beautiful sprays of long-lasting flower spikes that have become some of the most familiarized of all. These "moth" orchids can bloom for months and are commonly thought to be a great starting point for a new orchid hobbyist. Phalaenopsis are one of the easiest orchids to grow indoors. By following a few basic requirements, these budded orchid plants will happily reward you with several weeks of blooms.
- Lighting: Low light, east facing window ideal. Does not require a high amount of light
- Water: Thoroughly water potting medium once/week preferably in the mornings. Do not allow water to gather and sit in the crown.
- Temperature: 60-90F (95F Maximum)
- Fertilize: You can use a balanced orchid fertilizer. Diluted to half strength.
Upon receiving a budded/blooming orchid plant, please DO NOT repot the plant into another pot right away. Any media change will cause some stress and shock to the plant possibly causing the buds to drop. Allow the flower to finish blooming & then transplant. We will not honor our guarantee if you immediately repot the plant & flowers abort.
