Paphiopedilum orchids aka the "Lady Slipper" orchid usually produce a singular bloom. They are recognized by their distinct pouch-like lip. Although usually just a singular flower is produced, the bloom life is fairly long. Please note that this is a cross with a sibling so features will look similar but not exact.

We got delayed on the way over and arrived just at closing but the kind folks at Akatsuka let us browse around and I happily spotted this beauty. Arrived just days before blooming and it's still blooming and it's been about 2 weeks. Better than the pictures. Even after the bloom eventually fades, the leaves are lovely and eye-catching patterns. Great service, great product!
