Paphinia (Pna.) Majestic (Pna. herrerae x Pna. cristata)
This Paphinia orchid is a primary orchid descending from Paphinia species herrerae and cristata. Blooms of this orchid hybrid are relatively large, sometimes 6" across, and the plant can bloom several times per year.
These orchids are seedling crosses and each will produce its own variation of flowers by genetic lottery. The blooms you receive may be similar but not identical to the orchid seen photographed.

I live this plant and the flowers are beautiful. However the advertised photo shows an almost solid dark red and mine is while with red streaks. Still beautiful though. It was not staked and needed to be. I felt it was going to die when it showed up as the spike was bent over, thin and limp. It needed to de staked or it would break. I steamed it and it is great now. I have ordered numerous flowers from this grower and all have been amazing. This one slightly below expectations.
This Paphinia is a new orchid for me. I wanted to try it from Akatsuka because they are by far the best orchid vendor I have used in my 20 years of collecting orchids. As always, I am extremely pleased with the quality of this orchid. And it has two advanced buds and two developing buds. What more could I ask for?
