Peristeria elata x sib (6.5" pot - Bud Spike)
- Mature Blooming Size with BUD SPIKE forming! (see pics)
- We prefer to ship now while bud spike is developing as the spike itself can get very tall.
- Rare Species Collector Plant--"Holy Ghost" or "Dove Orchid"
- Planted in a 6.5" Pot
- About 1 month away from seeing individual bud separation & formation
- Long Lasting Fragrant White Flowers -2.5 cm wide
- Late Summer - Fall bloomer
- Average Plant Height: 18-20"
- Spikes can grow to 4-6' tall
Easy to grow and flower! Once a bud spike forms, it will continue to produce a spike each season. You may need to repot every 1-2 years as pseudobulbs will get bigger.
A native to Panama, this species prefers intermediate-warm temperatures and moderate filtered light with 40-70% humidity. Ideally during the winter, the potting medium should be allowed to approach drying between watering during the winter. This plant will lose leaves on older growths as it goes through new growth cycle. Leaves are sensitive to watering and black spots will appear if leaves do not dry off. It's best to water the plant at the base.
