I was very pleased to see the orchid was in great condition. The spike and the plant itself was healthy, no damage to the product. Thank you for including the orchid name tag from my previous purchased.

Easy to grow and flower! Once a bud spike forms, it will continue to produce a spike each season. You may need to repot every 1-2 years as pseudobulbs will get bigger. Please note that tips of leave on older pseudobulb are browning. See pics. These leaves eventually fall off. New pseduobulb and leaves form each year.
A native to Panama, this species prefers intermediate-warm temperatures and moderate filtered light with 40-70% humidity. Ideally during the winter, the potting medium should be allowed to approach drying between watering during the winter. This plant will lose leaves on older growths as it goes through new growth cycle. Leaves are sensitive to watering and black spots will appear if leaves do not dry off. It's best to water the plant at the base.

Most costly orchid I've ever purchased. Arrived with spike with a bend at tip (curious). I would have put 4-stars if not for what happened after opening. I put it outside on my deck protected by 50% shade cloth. Within 2 days the spike 'unbent' itself and straightened out, partly due to sun and gravity is my guess. Very fat and healthy pseudo-bulb with lovely new growth. Noticed trimming of old-growth leaf tips. This caused no harm and looks quite nice with fan-shaped leaves. As always, I am amazed and grateful for the wonderful wrapping & packing job that Akatsuka Orchids does. Zero damage and the quick delivery ensured little to no stress on the plants. Thankyou!
