There are various environmental factors that may have contributed to this individual blooming occurrence and first blooming plants often produce similar results.
These plants are mericlones, which means you will receive a cattleya plant similar to that in the photo that will produce a bloom identical to the flower in the photograph. Please remember that adequate lighting is important during the continued development of the blooms until opening to achieve optimal color vibrancy.

As with all orchids, good air movement is essential. Repot these mature size orchids every 2 years.
