Red cattleya orchid, Rlc. Volcano Jewel 'Volcano Queen', is a stunningly vibrant variety with a deep red and yellow lip. This ready-to-bloom plant is eager to showcase its flamboyant flowers. This particular cattleya originates from our nursery on Hawaii's Orchid Isle. The parental cross for this mericlone is the Rlc. Volcano Island and Rlc. Taeko Tamaki.

Now mature, this variety is producing buds. Flowers will increase in size as the plant continues to grow. These plants are clones, which means the bloom will look like sample photo.
This particular clone, Rlc. Volcano Jewel 'Volcano Queen' is at a mature blooming stage and currently producing buds and blooms. This orchid is planted in a 5 1/2” pot and will produce 4-5” cattley flowers as shown in the product photo while in bloom. Cattleyas are often annual bloomers. This variety tends to produce orchid flowers consistently at varying seasons every year. This plant is currently in bud or flowering now.
General orchid care for Cattleyas include a temperature range of 75-85F during the day and 60F at night. 40-60% humidity is recommended. Bright, shaded light south-east or south-west exposure. Check the media and water only when dry (about 1-2 times/week). We recommend fertilizing with a high phosphorus & potassium slow release blend to develop big blooms. As with all orchids, good air movement is essential. Repot these mature size orchids every 2 years.
