Rlc. Velvet Beauty 'Volcano Queen' (Single Bud)
This particular clone, Rlc. Velvet Beauty 'Volcano Queen' (Rlc. Joy Sokabe x Rlc. Haruko Kanzaki) is a wonderful cattleya orchid that produces vibrant, violet to fuschia colored flowers in its fall blooming season. This relatively new hybrid was cloned in 2015. This orchid is planted in a 5 1/2” pot and will produce a 3-4” bloom as shown in the product photo. Cattleyas are often annual bloomers and though this particular variety is a fall bloomer, it is always possible for it to produce blooms out of season. This plant is currently in bud and ready to flower for your enjoyment.
Note: The Rlc. Volcano Splash 'Volcano Queen' plants available under this product description have produced a single bud during the current blooming period. Flower count should increase as plant continues to grow & mature. These plants are very much healthy and vigorously growing. There are various environmental factors that may have contributed to this individual blooming occurrence and first blooming plants may also produce similar results.
These plants are mericlones, which means you will receive a cattleya plant similar to that in the photo that will produce a bloom identical to the flower in the photograph. Please remember that adequate lighting is important during the continued development of the blooms until opening to achieve optimal color vibrancy.
